Barbecue Plancha grill BBQ Big Jack 3.0 Black with poker and wood storage

A plancha grill is a new trend that comes from the south of Spain and will be the new trend of 2026. You can use the Grill Ring all year round!

Optional: Grill grate £59.50 can be found here.

Fire bowl or outdoor fireplace:
With an ideal height of 100 cm, you can use it as a fire bowl. With its shape and steel top plate, it provides plenty of heat and a beautiful view from your dining table or garden set. The handy wood storage means you always have wood within easy reach and it also looks very nice.

Outdoor BBQ Plancha grill:
This plancha grill Big Jack 3.0 comes with an 80cm Ø and 8mm thick steel plancha cooking plate. The working height for grilling is ideal at 100cm (no need to bend down). This cooking plate has a diameter of 80cm and offers enough space to cook your favourite vegetables, meat and fish dishes. You can simply fire it with wood. Charcoal is not needed. As you can all stand around it, it is also very cosy. Because of its shape, it gets up to temperature very quickly.

Stir Frying:
On the rim in the middle is a (removable) wok ring of 38cmØ, so you can also wok or fry something in a wok (the wok itself is not included, but can be bought online for approx. € 20-25). Thanks to the raised rim, the fire burns well. Just fry your favourite vegetables, meat or fish in a pan or wok on the Big Jack plancha grill.

    Lighting

How do I light my Plancha Grill?

Start with kindling wicks and kindling wood and let it burn well for a while. Then you can add oak logs, for example, and when they burn well, push them under the rim so that the heat is well distributed.

The process takes about 45 min. Will people be visiting? So make sure you take plenty of time to light the plancha.

Remarkably, it consumes relatively little wood because the fire is not completely open. It is advisable to grease the plate with olive oil the first few times (for metal plancha plates), so it will darken nicely. Later, it is best to take oil with a high burn rate, such as sunflower oil.

    Lighting:

    • Fire starter woks
    • Fire starter wood
    • Place oak blocks under the Plancha steel plate
    • Take your time!

    Advantages:

    • Excellent hot plate that can be baked directly on
    • Relatively low wood consumption
    • No large open fire (safer than open fire)

    Maintenance tips

    Why is Plancha maintenance important??

A well-maintained Plancha grill not only delivers better cooking results, but also lasts considerably longer. By cleaning your grill thoroughly after each use and regularly protecting it against rust, you can prevent damage and ensure that it always looks like new.

What happens if you don't maintain your Plancha properly?

    • Food residues and grease remain behind
    • Rust forms more quickly
    • The non-stick coating is damaged
    • The cooking plate becomes less hygienic

🧽 Daily maintenance – quick and effective

Your Plancha will still be warm immediately after use. This is the ideal time to clean it:

    1. Scrape off food residues with a spatula or metal scraper.
    2. Use papertowel to remove the residue..
    3. Rub the plate with a layer of oil. This prevents rust and helps to strengthen the non-stick coating.

👉 Do NOT use water or cleaning agents during this process. Water on a hot plate can cause warping or damage.

🧼 Thorough cleaning – for the longer term

Depending on how often you use your grill, it is a good idea to give it an extra thorough clean every now and then.

    1. Allow the plate to become very hot. (without food).
    2. Pour some oil onto the plate and leave it to soak in for 15-25 minutes.
    3. Scrape off the loose residue with a spatula or wire brush.
    4. Allow to cool and wipe clean with a cloth or kitchen roll..
    5. Apply oil for protection.

    🛡 Preventing and treating rust

    Prevention:

    • Cover your Plancha with a protective cover or our stainless steel cover plate.
    • Store it in a dry place when not in use.
    • Oil the plate after each use to prevent rust.

    Treat:

    • Sand away light rust spots with a plancha spatula or filling knife.
    • Then burn again in several layers depending on the amount of rust.

    💡 Common mistakes in maintenance

    • ❌ Using water on a hot plate
    • ❌ Not greasing the sides of the baking tray.
    • ❌ Leaving the grill wet or dirty

    The origin

As a designer and importer, my hobby is barbecuing. The BBQ Plancha is a relatively new and emerging trend in Europe. And as someone who loves being outdoors, pretty much all year round, a plancha is a great piece of garden furniture where I can cook, chat and warm up with my family and friends.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions about the Big Jack 3.0 Blackline Plancha Grill

What is the difference between the Big Jack Blackline and the standard Big Jack?

✅ The Big Jack Blackline is made from black powder-coated steel. This gives it a modern, premium look and extra class. The standard Big Jack is made from Corten steel, which develops a natural rust-coloured patina over time.

Is the black coating heat resistant?

✅ Yes! The Blackline coating is specially developed to withstand high temperatures, so you can grill and stoke the fire without worry.

Is the Big Jack 3.0 Blackline supplied with a chopping board?

✅ You can choose! The wooden chopping board is supplied as standard with the Big Jack 3.0 Blackline, giving you extra workspace next to your plancha. You can also choose to purchase it without chopping board at a sharper price.

Can I also use the Big Jack Blackline as a fire bowl?

✅ Absolutely! By removing the Cooking plate, you can use the Big Jack Blackline as a generous open fire bowl – perfect for cosy evenings around the fire.

How do I maintain the Blackline coating?

✅ The coating provides a beautiful finish but is more sensitive to damage. Touch up any scratches, which helps prevent rust and keeps your grill beautifully black.
